Project: PVC-O Artificial Snow Waterfall Project at Jiulongxuan Scenic Area, Shaohua Mountain, Shaanxi
Time: 2018
Project Purpose: Water Conveyance
PVC-O Pipes Specification:dn315
Region: Shaanxi
In August 2018, the management committee of the Shaohua Mountain Scenic Area utilized the abundant water source from the Yuchan Pond site. By adopting a gravity flow system, plastic pipes were used to transport the ample water to the cliff area of the Huanggou Jiulongxuan scenic spot, where it cascades down to create the stunning artificial waterfall landscape known as Jiulongxuan.
The pipes were installed overhead along steep mountain slopes. Installation workers secured themselves with safety harnesses tied to trees to prevent falls. The difficulties involved in transporting, laying, and fixing the pipes were beyond imagination. The project employed dn315 Taiji Blue PVC-O pipes, spanning over 700 meters in total. It was completed smoothly in just over a month—a task that would have been impossible with pipes made of other materials. After installation, the pipes were further anchored with metal fixtures and wrapped with rubber-plastic insulation foam and sunshade netting for thermal insulation, UV protection, and fire resistance. The pipes were easy to install, and construction proceeded efficiently. After more than two years of safe operation, the project has been highly praised by both the client and the construction team.
