In the 2019 water supply project in Jinsha County, Guizhou Province, PVC-O pipes were selected, with specifications including dn110, dn160, dn200, dn250, dn315, and dn355 mm, totaling a length of 30 km.

PVC-O pipes are lightweight, which makes them easy to transport under complex terrain conditions, such as mountainous areas and rice fields. For instance, a dn315mm pipe can be easily carried by just three workers to sites inaccessible by vehicles—an advantage unmatched by other metal pipes.

The installation of PVC-O pipes requires simple tools and is highly convenient. For long-distance pipeline installation in field conditions, a team of four workers can easily install 50 to over 60 dn315 mm pipes per day.

After the completion of water conveyance project in Jinsha County, the water supply coverage extended to 24 townships and over 180 administrative villages, resolving safe drinking water issues for 570,000 residents.
